The Grounding Double Spiral Earrings: Hammered Copper & 14ct Gold-Filled Findings– £38
Designed in my little studio by Loch Goil as a wearable somatic anchor, these earrings balance beautiful, fluid movement with the deeply grounding energy of earth metals. They are crafted to bring a sense of mindful rhythm and stability to your day.
These are perfectly imperfect pieces of wearable art. Each earring features a cascading double spiral, meticulously hand-forged from thick, solid raw copper wire. The spirals are hammer-forged on a steel bench block to harden the metal and create a beautifully organic, faceted texture that catches the light. To ensure lasting durability and comfort for sensitive skin, they are suspended from 14ct gold-filled ear wires.
They are intentionally designed to be felt. Notice the gentle, rhythmic swing of the spirals against your jawline when you move. When your mind feels busy, reach up and hold the lower spiral. Copper is a highly conductive metal that warms instantly to your touch. Tracing your fingers over the deeply hammered divots and following the continuous loop of the spiral offers a highly focused, satisfying tactile path, gently inviting your nervous system to settle and anchoring you firmly in the present moment.
A Note on Raw Copper: I choose to work with raw, uncoated copper for its beautiful, ancient energy and natural warmth. Because it is unplated, it will gradually oxidize and develop a rich, earthy patina over time. You may notice raw copper can leave a faint green mark on the skin—this is a completely harmless, natural reaction. However, because the ear wires themselves are premium 14ct gold-filled, the part resting inside your ear piercing will not oxidize or transfer color, offering a perfectly comfortable and hypoallergenic wear.
